1. Indian Police Force: A must watch Web Series
Release Year: 2023
Season: 1
Starring: Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Vivek Anand Oberoi, and many more
Director: Rohit Shetty, Sushwanth Prakash
IMDb Rating: 5.1

“Indian Police Force” is an exciting web series about chasing a terrorist named Zarar. The series opens with explosions in Delhi, setting the stage for a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Led by DCP Kabir Malik and CP Vikram Bakshi, along with ATS chief Tara Shetty, the hunt takes us across India and beyond. While the show may not focus on gritty realism, there are plenty of action-packed scenes, including shootouts, martial arts and over-the-top car chases. Despite some obvious effects, the show shines with its impressive locations and well-crafted characters. The cast does a solid job of making the characters fun to watch, even if they’re not entirely believable. For an English viewer with limited exposure to Indian entertainment, the show feels fresh and interesting, though it may not offer the same novelty for those more familiar with the culture. Overall, Indian Police Force is a fun and entertaining watch, earning it a rating of 5 out of 10 stars. With an open-ended finale, it leaves the door wide open for future seasons, which would probably be worth tuning in for.
2. Dhootha: A must watch Web Series
Release Year: 2023
Season: 1
Starring: Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Sathyapriya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai, and many more
Director: Vikram K kumar
IMDb Rating:7.8

“Dhootha” is an exciting thriller web series that deserves 3.9 stars for its gripping story, unique ideas, and captivating screenplay. While it keeps you interested and is easy to understand, there are a few moments that might not make sense, like finding a perfectly preserved dog or a journalist attempting suicide without anyone noticing. Some performances, especially the crime investigator played by Parvathy, might feel a bit exaggerated. And the main actor’s reactions could be more realistic instead of just running away. But despite these flaws, “Dhootha” is worth watching, especially for its intense ending. It’s important to remember that it’s rated A, so it’s not meant for kids. Directed by Vikram K Kumar, the series tells a fascinating story of revenge and karma, with great performances from actors like Naga Chaitanya, Prachi Desai, and Rohini. Parvathy’s investigative scenes add depth to the plot, even if they’re a bit too explanatory at times. Overall, “Dhootha” is a gripping show with an interesting storyline that explores journalism and social issues. While it could improve in some areas like police procedures and character development. It stands out as a must-watch for thriller enthusiasts, setting a high standard for the genre, regardless of language or region.
3. Inspector Rishi: A must watch Web Series
Release Year: 2024
Season: 1
Starring: Naveen Chandra, Sunainaa, Srikrishna Dayal, and many more
Director: Nandhini JS
IMDb Rating: 7.2

“Inspector Rishi” is a captivating web series that blends suspense with intriguing characters. Lead actor Naveen delivers a standout performance, guiding viewers through a web of danger and deception. The series explores thought-provoking themes like afforestation and animal protection, prompting reflection on personal beliefs. However, the pacing of the show is middling, and some viewers may find it less than gripping. Despite an interesting premise, it falls short of holding attention, with some feeling compelled to finish it only out of inertia. The ensemble cast performs well overall, but there are some weak links, notably the character Chitra, whose lack of reaction and delivery irritates viewers, affecting the overall viewing experience. Additionally, unnecessary subplots, like the lesbian relationship, detract from the main storyline. Despite its flaws, “Inspector Rishi” is still worth a watch for its unique premise and standout performances. It’s a good series for a one-time viewing, though it could have been improved with tighter storytelling and better character selection. Overall, it garners an average rating of 3.5 stars.

How to Reach?

Ships and planes departing from Kochi can travel to Lakshadweep Island. Kochi is the entry point to Lakshadweep for tourists.
Kochi is the starting point for flights to Agatti and Bangaram islands. Flights are operated from Kochi by Indian Airlines. The majority of airports in India and overseas are served by flights that continue from Kochi. The airstrip is located solely on Agatti Island. During the fair season (October to May), boats are available from Agatti to Kavaratti and Kadmat. It takes about one hour and thirty minutes to fly from Cochin to Agatti.
A combination of air and sea travel is required to get from mainland India to Lakshadweep. How to get to Lakshadweep is explained in detail below:
1. Pick Your Point of Entry:
Only one airport, on Agatti Island, is accessible to the general public in Lakshadweep. As such, you will usually take a plane to Agatti to start your journey. Though they might take longer and depend on availability, some ships can also make connections from the mainland to different islands.
Make a Travel Arrangement:
Air travel is the most popular and practical method of getting to Lakshadweep. There are flights from major Indian cities like Bengaluru (BLR) and Kochi (COK) to Agatti Airport (AGX). There are frequent flights from airlines like IndiGo, GoAir, and Air India to Agatti. Because there may not be as much availability, make sure to book your flight well in advance.
Permissions to Enter:
Obtain the required Lakshadweep entry permits before making travel plans. All visitors must obtain these permits, which can be done so via the official Lakshadweep tourism website https://samudram.utl.gov.in/ or by visiting the administration’s offices in Kochi, Mumbai, and other approved places.
Upon arrival at Agatti:
You’ll be astounded by the archipelago’s breath-taking beauty as soon as you land at Agatti Airport. You can take inter-island boat transfers from Agatti to further explore other islands.
Transfers between islands:
Lakshadweep has excellent boat connectivity, and regular ferry services are available for island-to-island travel. Make sure to check the ferry schedules ahead of time and make your ticket purchases appropriately. Traveling between islands can be an adventure unto itself, with breath-taking views of the Arabian Sea.
Ships sailing into Lakshadweep
In addition to planes, ships are another means of transportation between Lakshadweep and the mainland. Depending on the island of destination, ships can take anywhere from 14 to 20 hours to reach there from Kochi. It’s important to confirm the schedule and availability as ship services are not as frequent as flights.
Accommodations:
Lakshadweep has a variety of lodging choices, from affordable motels to opulent resorts. To guarantee the greatest selections, make sure to reserve your stay well in advance, particularly during the busiest travel periods.
Local laws and policies:
Learn about the rules, traditions, and laws that apply in Lakshadweep. Observe responsible tourism practices, show consideration for the environment, and honour local customs.
When to travel?
October to mid-May is the ideal time of year to visit Lakshadweep. It rains from mid-May through September. While Lakshadweep’s resorts are open all year round, getting there by ship during the monsoon is challenging. You can travel by air from Kochi to islands like Agatti and Bangaram, which are pleasant even during the monsoon season. It is difficult to get to resorts like Kadmat, Minicoy, and Kavaratti because there is no helicopter or plane service between them. Agatti to Bangaram can only be reached by helicopter during the monsoon season. But the rainy season offers a unique experience when the greenery appears to be greener than before and the mist adds a new shade to the azure waters and lagoons beyond. While ships operate for local passengers only and are closed to tourists during the monsoon, flights are open to tourists throughout the year.
Places to Visit
With its network of islands, Lakshadweep provides tourists with a wide variety of attractions. The following are a few Lakshadweep must-see locations:
Agatti Island:
Lakshadweep’s entrance is in Agatti, which is renowned for its breath-taking lagoons and coral reefs. Since Agatti Airport is the only airstrip in Lakshadweep, it serves as a major tourist hub.
The Island of Kavaratti:
Lakshadweep’s capital city, Kavaratti, is well-known for the Ujra Mosque and its white sand beaches. Constructed in the 17th century, the mosque is a marvel of architecture that provides expansive views of the surroundings.
Bangaram Island:
Beautiful coral island Bangaram is well-known for its immaculate beaches and abundant marine life. With options like kayaking, scuba diving, and snorkeling, it’s the perfect place for lovers of water sports.
